Why I Love the USA - Joey - Freedom and Godly Truths

Picture of Joey and text about godly truths that are still strong today

Joey has been a close family friend for more than ten years, when he became schoolmates with my nephew, and has become an even closer friend a couple of years ago, when he started dating my middle daughter.

He’s respectful and kind to others, and, something I admire even more, he’s respectful and kind to his family.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics with a perfect GPA, is a black belt in martial arts, helps teach martial arts at his dojo, helps his father run the family business, volunteers at various church and community events, and goes to church regularly. God and faith are very important to him.

He spoils my daughter and figures out small and big ways to make her feel special. Once, he asked two of my daughters and their cousins to be actors in a reproduction of the theme song from the Disney movie Encanto. He somehow managed to not only have them all agree to dress up, act, and sing, but also to keep going hours after they were already tired and didn’t want to have anything to do with Encanto anymore. The video was a surprise for my middle daughter’s birthday, and it turned out hilarious and charming.

When I asked Joey what he loves about the USA, this is what he had to say.

“What I love about the U.S.A. is the freedom we get to enjoy daily. We are so blessed to live in this country, where we have nothing but opportunity in all aspects of life. Discovery, creativity, and imagination are abundant here, and they can only be limited if we allow them to be. Our Founding Fathers not only understood the importance of freedom, but they also recognized the need for a foundational set of absolute truths to build this nation of liberty on. That’s why our country was founded on godly truths that are still strong for many today, and I am proud to live my life by them, and thankful for the freedom to do so. I hope that you remember not to take your freedoms here for granted, and instead that you would embrace them. Use them to enjoy the wonderful opportunities we have in this great nation, and most importantly, to discover your Creator and your purpose on this Earth.”

Thank you, Joey, for sharing, and thank you, all, for reading. I wish you a wonderful day in our beautiful USA. ❤️
