Why I Love the USA - Kristian - Opportunities and Wide Roads
Share

Kristian is my husband. If you want to understand what kind of person he is, you have to be patient and watch him for a little while because he doesn’t talk much. That’s really the only negative thing I can say about him since his actions are nearly perfect.
We’ve now been married for more than twenty years, and he’s never stopped spoiling me and supporting me in everything I do. He’s laid back, has a heart-melting smile, immerses himself with child-like energy and joy in the games he plays with our daughters, and has as much fun playing with them as they have playing with him.
He’s been working as a correctional officer for twenty-five years, a challenging job that can harden people. Not Kristian though. There are times when he seems to have less patience, especially when it comes to slow drivers, but, at his core, he’s still the person I married: someone who’s kind and respectful and who makes me feel safe, encouraged to be myself, and loved.
When I asked him why he loved the USA, we had just returned from a four-week trip to Romania, and he was still recovering from having to drive a manual car on narrow roads with drivers who often seemed to be training for some kind of race, ignoring speed limits and no-passing-allowed signs. That’s why his first reply was that he loved the USA for its wide roads and its highways that went all over the country.
He wasn’t content with his answer, so he added a little to it, and here’s what he ended up with. “I love the USA because of the opportunities that are available to transform your life. If you’re willing to put aside your fears and put in the hard work, you can achieve anything here. I also love our highway system for travel. 😀”
As I said, he doesn't talk much. 😊
Thank you, baby, for sharing, and thank you, all, for reading. I wish you a wonderful day in our beautiful USA. ❤️
